I agree that some Destiel shippers can go to far. I really do. But I have a few things to say in the Supernatural Shipping family. *I understand that there are many MANY more ships other than Destiel and Wincest. I am nearly using these as an example because it is where I have seen most of the problems arise.*

1. First and fore most. Please. Please. Please stop putting Destiel in the Wincest tag of Wincest in the Destiel tag. It’s not cool and it’s really annoying for the people who only want to see what they came for.

2. Stop telling people that their ship is “wrong” or “gross” or “sick”. If incest isn’t your thing that’s perfectly okay. If interspecies isn’t your thing either that’s perfectly okay too. It’s NOT okay when you tell people that they should ship it because you don’t like it.

3. If one ship is more popular that another it does not matter. If you ship something and you enjoy shipping it, it should not matter if it is the most popular ship if the show. It will not make a difference and will not affect your opinion if you don’t want it to.

4. DO NOT compare two ships to someone unless they ask you or permit you to. If someone asks why you ship something DO NOT say why the “other ship” is never going to be canon or why it is wrong. DO give your analysis, opinion and observations on YOUR ship. There is NO need to get another ship involved. And also if someone asks why you don’t ship something DO NOT give reasons why you ship something else. It is irrelevant and can be interpreted as rude.

5. Openly bashing a ship will NOT make you look like a bigger fan of your own ship. It will make you look like a dick.

6. I have ships I like and I have ships that I don’t. But I will NEVER ever tell someone that they should like my ship and not their own. It’s just being respectful.

7. On the topic of respect if someone enjoys shipping a ship DO NOT make them feel bad about it. If shipping something makes them feel happy, no matter what it is, god damn, you should be encouraging them to ship it even if you don’t like it yourself.

8. If you don’t like a ship that’s fine. If you say things like “If you ship Destiel get away from me” or “If you ship Wincest I automatically hate you” or “If you ship Megstiel don’t even follow me because I will block you” THAT IS NOT OK. YOU ARE INDIRECTLY BULLYING SOMEONE BY SAYING THINGS LIKE THIS AND BULLYING IS NOT. OKAY.

9. Please quit hating on the writers for giving a member of your ship a love interest that isn’t the other member(s) of your ship. Remember, there are also fan who do not ship your ship. There are some members with no ships and that is okay. The writers of the show have made something that they want to share with us and I think that’s great but when people start bashing the writers for writing their characters on their show it really makes me disappointed in the people who are bashing.

10. I have seen people say things like “Who the fuck is that ugly bitch with Cas/Misha.” And it sucks. It really does. It sucks that people are insulting a PERSON, a living, breathing human being, for doing her job. I am a Destiel shipper and I would do anything to see Dean with Cas. I really would. But if the writers decide to out him with someone else. That cool. It’s our show to watch and enjoy and it’s their show to write and enjoy and if they want to out dean with someone else or Cas with someone else, that’s fine.

11. I have also seen people giving out about Cas being straight and saying that the writers are Gay bashing and being homophobic and this is one that me makes me physically angry. Calling people homophobic because they made a character straight is seriously one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. If someone told you that they were straight, would you call them homophobic? If the answer to that question is yes, you really need to wake the fuck up and smell the logic.

12. People have said that they are “leaving the fandom” because something happened in the show that they didn’t like. Part of being a fan is staying with the show/ movie/ book series/ podcast. If you grow out of the show (or other fandom) that’s fine. That’s your choice and it’s something out of your control. But if you see a trailer of something and don’t like it, maybe try watching it before you start swearing at the writers for “not doing what you wanted to happen”. (This one is mainly directed at the trailer for 9x03 with Cas and April)

13. DO NOT JUDGE A SHIP BY A HANDFUL OF SHIPPERS. I do not now how many times I have to say this before someone listens. I have seen really bad things being pulled by the Destiel fandom. The same for the Wincest fandom. (But not as much because I don’t see any general Wincest post due to the blogs I follow but I have seen my fair share). I have seen numerous Destiel shippers bash and hate on so many other ships and it really makes me sad. I have also seen (quite aggressive) Wincest shippers declare their hatred for an entire ship because of some things that some shippers have done.

In conclusion, all I want is for ALL shippers to have mutual respect for each other. For all of us to be able to have our own ships with out having people put us down for it. For all of us to be one big Supernatural fandom to have our jokes, analysis’ and whatever the hell else we do and for there not to be a barrier between people just because a difference in ships.
